Assistant Engineer (Public Health)

Large, progressive county health department serving 1M residents north of NYC seeks Assistant Engineer (Public Health) to perform public health engineering work relating to wastewater disposal, sanitary sewage systems, individual water supplies, air pollution and solid and hazardous wastes to ensure compliance with Westchester County, New York State Departments of Health and Environmental Conservation regulations for the protection of the public and the environment.

MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree* in Engineering and either (a) one year of experience as a Public Health Engineer Trainee or Junior Engineer in a state or local health department; or (b) two years of experience where the primary function of the position was in public health, sanitary, environmental or chemical engineering; or (c) Master's Degree* in Public Health Engineering, Sanitary Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Public Health or Civil Engineering with a sanitary option such as Environmental Engineering or Public Health; or (d) a satisfactory equivalent combination of the foregoing training and experience as defined by the limits of (a) through (c).

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Possession of a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State.
