We've returned from Labor Day with a true welcome to the Fall. Before we say goodbye to Summer and embrace the breeze, let's recap: 

  • Design Awards 2016: We opened registration and are excited to see what our members have been working on.
  • SpeakUp: The AIA Advocacy and Action Event, SpeakUp is three exciting, dynamic and inspiring days where you will get the tools you need to advocate for your profession and your community. Our Executive Committee attended and received training on how to power map our legislators, how to use social media, legislative strategies and targeting, and more.   • Summer School: Thank you to our sponsors and of course, our members for Summer School 2016. If you did attend, please fill out the form at the end of this post.  
  • Boat Tour: We had to postpone our Boat Tour due to weather conditions but we'll keep you updated of the rescheduled event. 

What will September bring?

  • ARE Scholarship: The AIA Westchester + Hudson Valley Young Professionals Committee is proud to provide its annual scholarship program to encourage participation in the Architect Registration Examination (ARE). The full amount of the scholarship will be $1,470.00.  The recipient will be recognized at the 2016 Soiree. Submission Deadline is October 27, 2016.  

  • Annual Meeting, September 20th: Join us for Dinner, Annual Business Meeting, and a Seminar by the John Green Preservation Coalition. Register here

  • Bike Tour, September 18th: This scenic 37 mile route offers a rich and diverse architectural subject matter suitable to stop at each riders' leisure and enjoy. Register here
