EVENT DESCRIPTION:
The Obercreek Brewing company is renovating ( aprox .25 mile from the existing location), to two existing Obercreek historic dairy and calving barns . The buildings are redesigned for adaptive re-use for beer production, gathering / eating spaces, and tasting room. The barns will be OSHA compliant and upgraded to meet all Accessibility, Acoustic, Code, Energy, and MEP requirements.
During this mid construction tour River Architects , ( James Hartford & team), and owners Alex Reese & Alison Spear AIA, will discuss the design and construction strategies of the two barn buildings, various spaces , and park-like parking areas and promenade to repurpose the site and buildings for modern beer production, indoor and outdoor gathering spaces and vehicular access.
Discussions will include neighboring Wetland constraints, discovery of historic artifacts on the site and strategies employed to work around these areas , ADA requirements , SHPO historic requirements , recycled and repurposed materials, new mechanical and brewing systems, fenestration, vehicular and fire lane access.
